Cameroon – Cooperation: The Central African Republic requires the Cameroonian expertise to train its defense forces

Joseph Yakete (photo), the Central African Minister of Defense, began an official visit to Cameroon on 17 April. According to the Communications Division of the Cameroonian Ministry of Defense, this visit helps to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries, which should soon result in the formation of some Central African defense forces by the Cameroonian army.

Also, during the day of 17 April, the Central African Defense Minister visited the Joint Military School (EMIA), a prestigious school from which are trained the majority of army officers in Cameroon; To the Command of schools and training centers of the national gendarmerie, which runs schools specializing in the training and retraining of elements of the national gendarmerie.

Through this boost that the Cameroonian army gives to its Central African sister, Cameroon, which shares its borders with the CAR and has already participated, from the beginning, in the United Nations mission for the security of the Central African Republic, Intends to make a decisive contribution to the pacification of this country in the throes of insecurity since the overthrow of President Bozizé in 2013.
