Cameroon – Boko Haram: Landmine explosion kills 3 soldiers in north Cameroon

Three Cameroonian soldiers participating in the war against the Islamists of Boko Haram in northern Cameroon were killed Monday and five others injured in the explosion of a landmine.

A military vehicle carrying soldiers from the Mixed Multinational Force (MMF) jumped on a mine this morning (Monday) at Mora,” reported under cover anonymity a safe source.

Three soldiers died and five others were wounded,” he added. The incident and the balance sheet was confirmed to AFP by a second security source.

Since Cameroon has been at war with Boko Haram, many of the military men have been killed in the explosion of landmines laid by the Islamists of Boko Haram, an insurrectional averagely originating in northeastern Nigeria but whose exactions extend to the neighboring countries.

The Mixed Multinational Force (MMF), in charge of fighting Boko Haram, has 10,000 soldiers from Cameroon, Chad, Nigeria and Niger.

In Nigeria, four people were killed on Monday in two suicide bombings on the outskirts of Maiduguri in northeast Nigeria, according to members of the civilian militia.
