One month after the 72nd UN General Assembly, Paul Biya and Antonio Guterres met again. Coming from Bangui in the Central African Republic where he made a working visit, the Secretary-General of the United Nations made a stopover in Cameroon. He was received in audience in the early evening yesterday, October 27, 2017 by the Head of State at the Palace of Unity.
Nothing has filtered from exchanges between the two men who lasted long minutes. The website of the Presidency is content to emphasize that “the host of the Head of State arrived at the Unity Palace in the early evening, from Bangui in CAR“.
It seems clear, however, that the tenant of the Etoudi Palace and his host have addressed the hot topics of the news: The socio-political crisis that shakes the English-speaking regions of Cameroon, the war against Boko Haram and its consequences especially in terms of influx refugees, the security situation in Central Africa etc. It is impossible, however, to know what the two men said.
