The UK financial audit and advisory group Grant Thornton International (GTI) has just announced the arrival in its network of two firms based in Cameroon. The first is, we learn, FAA Tax & Legal, which will change its name to Grant Thornton Tax & Legal. The new entity, which will employ 20 people, will be headed by a certain Jacques Bakelak.
Then AGM Cameroon will take the name of Grant Thornton Audit & Advisory. Specializing in public accounting, auditing and consulting, this newcomer to the Grant Thornton International network will be led by Emmanuel Nack.
The two firms, which will operate under the name of Grant Thornton Cameroon, will employ a total of 30 people, and will be housed in the same building in the city of Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon. An office will also be opened in Yaoundé, the capital of the country, one learns officially.
The arrival of these two Cameroonian firms in the network of the British auditor is more like a franchise, insofar as, with the exception of “a few rare specific cases”, the “firms of the Grant Thornton network hold or are held by GTI “, since there is generally no” capital link between them “.
