- Members of the NSO secret society had given a 24-hour ultimatum to the alleged killers of Constable Djolay Bienvenue, to return the weapon carried away.
The weapon that was taken away Monday, November 6, 2017 after the assassination of Major Djolay near Jakiri Technical High School in the North-West, was finally found on the evening of November 7, 2017. According to local sources, the gendarmerie of the Bui division, the presumed assassins threw the weapon near the Nso Palace.
Before the discovery of this weapon, members of the NSO secret society had sent an ultimatum to the alleged killers of the gendarme by giving them until Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 7 PM to report themselves to the police and return the rifled weapon of the soldier.
For a good sensitization, the members of “Ngumba” had furrowed the whole area to denounce acts of violence and especially the repeated fires recorded in this part of the country.
It is recalled that on Monday, November 06, 2017, a group of individuals “armed with slingshots and machetes“, perpetrated an attack on Jakiri Technical High School, according to the spokesman of the Government, Issa Tchiroma, these young people wanted to expel teachers and students who were there in full session.
“Realizing the situation, the principal of the school immediately gave the alert to the defense and security forces who vigorously intervened, thus making it possible to defeat the criminal enterprise of the attackers. It was during the fight to catch up with them that Major Djolay Bienvenue, serving at 51 Squadron in Bafoussam, but seconded to the Jakiri Brigade, was attacked and shot by the thieves. His body was found a few moments later, riddled with bullets, not far from the theater of operations, “said the member of the Government.
