Aged 13, Kinkoh Jilsort Lawili supplanted the other participants from 14 countries in the world, at the final phase of this competition in Durban, South Africa.
Cameroon has once again confirmed that’s it’s a land full of talents. At the end of the final round of the 2017 Copa Coca-Cola competition in South Africa, Kinkoh Jilssort Lawili received the prestigious distinction of best player of the tournament.
Before confirming his extraordinary technical skills at the international level, this young resident of the Red Star training center in Bafoussam, began to dazzle the public of the Bafoussam chieftaincy stadium, at the regional stage of this competition.
Named best player of the West region, he was retained with the West team for the national final in Yaoundé. And once more ! The same consecration was dedicated to him. The little Kinkoh, 13, a Form III student in a private college in the city of Bafoussam was then selected to defend the colors of Cameroon. Although at his first adventure outside his homeland, he remained calm and competed to the end.
And his determination to raise the colors of his country was rewarded with the medal of the best player of the competition. “He is a technical player, but he makes the difference in the intelligence of the game. He can read the game on offensive and defensive plan,” admits his coach.
Returned to Cameroon a few days ago, this versatile young player who can evolve to the position of recovering midfielder, offensive midfielder and even right back, was received by the governor of the Western Region this Friday, November 24, 2017. His ambition therefore, is to continue to work, to reach the level of his idol (or even exceed him), the French international Ngolo Kanté. Until one of the many proposals from clubs interested in him after his performance in South Africa is conclusive, the young person prefers to stay focused on his studies.
