As part of his official visit to Cameroon, from November 29 to December 2, Yu Jianhua, China’s Deputy Minister of Commerce, signed with Louis Paul Motaze, Cameroon’s Minister of Economy, an agreement on economic cooperation and technique relating to a donation without compensation.
According to Louis Paul Motaze, this cooperation agreement amounts to 200 million yuan Rmb, or about 16.7 billion FCFA. The actual modalities of use of the related resources will be the subject of exchanges between the two parties.
But, priority, said the Cameroonian Minister, this contribution will finance, among others, the activities dedicated to the project of construction of the new headquarters building of the National Assembly. “The ambition is to provide the august room with an infrastructure of very high bill,” said Louis Paul Motaze.
In September 2017, the Cameroonian and Chinese governments signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement totaling CFAF 8.3 billion to finance the construction of the new headquarters building of the National Assembly in Yaoundé, the capital of the country. The structure will be a building of at least 13 stories.
