As part of the implementation of universal health coverage in Cameroon in 2018, the Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda (photo), has just explained to the press the steps to follow.
“You have to set up a management body. We must legislate on the system, especially on the obligation to contribute, on percentages, solidarity or not. There is solidarity if the contributions are the same. “Illuminates the minister. He added that it will be necessary to accredit health facilities because they are not all in the same standards. “We have to organize the affiliations. This will not be done per household. We must have agreements with the professional orders and necessarily with the decentralized local authorities, because the affiliations will be by village or by district, “he says.
The government member concluded by saying that these reflections will evolve during this year 2018 to allow the implementation of the universal health coverage system. It will take an initial cash (1 300 billion FCfa) and it goes through a pre-collection, in order to hold the reimbursements that will be requested by health facilities.
