Camair-co has been selected as the exclusive commercial agent for the sale of stadium entrance tickets and accommodation at the next 2018 Russia World Cup. The announcement was made by Ernest Dikoum, the general manager of the said company. It was this Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Douala, during a press briefing at the Pullman hotel.
At the origin of this success, a partnership signed between the national airline and the group Mondial Tours, a company specializing in tourism and logistics. Mondial Tours benefits from a contract with Match Hospitality, the agency that holds exclusive rights for hosting at the World Cups until 2022. The company presents in 8 country on the continent thus gives up its rights for Central Africa to Camair-co.
“The Match Hospitality packages include tickets to the best seats in the stadiums. That entitles you to parking, a restaurant service for three hours before the match, two hours during the match and one hour after. Specifically, you have six hours that you go to the stadium with meals, drinks, hostesses, entertainment. It’s the football festival, “explains Mariama Diallo Sy, president of the Mondial Tours group. “Prices vary according to the three main categories of choice (luxury, executive, leisure),” she adds.
Practically, Ernest Dikoum said that individuals, groups of people or companies who wish to access the Match Hospitality package to go to the World Cup, must get closer to Camair-Co agencies or travel agencies that will be approved in the subregion. “All Camair-Co offices and approved travel agencies in Central Africa will be sales platforms. You just have to introduce yourself and all the arrangements will be made. We will have a system connected to the central reservation. So if there is a ticket in the stadium that is available, Camair-Co can sell it to its customers as well as hotels, “he says.
Authorized agencies have started training in the sale of these packages this Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the economic capital of Cameroon. But according to Ernest Dikoum, Camair-Co has been preparing for this role for sixteen months to the World Cup. Camair-co is positioning itself as a company that offers other travel services, beyond its core business of transportation.
Mariama Diallo Sy already welcomes these clues that demonstrate Camair-Co’s ability to rise to the challenge. The former Minister of Tourism of Guinea notes that this is the first time that an African company holds a contract for this type of partnership with the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA).
At Camair-Co and Mondial Tours, we agree that this partnership is the beginning of a great adventure. The two entities, who intend to make this experience a success in Africa, are already looking into the ways and means of republishing this partnership during the organization of the next Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON Total 2019) scheduled in Cameroon next year.
